Jemora Gemhouse

Dev Shetty is a highly accomplished business leader and entrepreneur in the coloured gemstones industry, with over two decades of experience driving successful turnarounds and growth for major mining companies. In January 2025, Dev announced the establishment of Jemora Gemhouse, an innovative Dubaibased auction house dedicated to rare and valuable polished coloured gemstones, is set to redefine the gemstone market by bridging the gap between coloured gemstone owners and an exclusive network of buyers.

In 2024, he founded GASTON, a UAE-headquartered business group that manages a diverse portfolio across various sectors. The group primarily focuses on investments in base and precious metals mining, gemstones, and advisory services. As the founder and CEO of Fura Gems Inc., Deve transformed the company from a singleperson operation into a global leader in coloured gemstones, employing over 1,600 people and overseeing the mining of emeralds, rubies, and sapphires across Colombia, Mozambique, and Australia. Under his leadership, Fura Gems has held 16 successful tenders since 2021 and expanded its global footprint with three operating mining assets. Previously, as a Board Member and Chief Operating Officer at Gemfields, he was credited with the turnaround of Gemfields, where he was instrumental in developing the world’s largest emerald mine in Zambia and the world’s largest ruby deposit in Mozambique.

In addition to his expertise in mining operations, he has made significant strides in marketing and brand building for the colored gemstones sector, working with renowned manufacturers, luxury brands, and gemstone laboratories to enhance the industry’s visibility and sustainability. He has also driven innovation with initiatives like the mine-to-market program for origin-certified pink sapphires and blockchain-based provenance solutions. Dev is a Chartered Accountant by training (India, 2003), and he was awarded the Icons of the UAE award in 2024.
